Statistical data by gender
Both quantitative and qualitative data should be considered when analysing the situation of men and women. Statistics often describe one section of life or another, or document the situation without explaining the reality reflected in the data.
The Gender Statistics Database of the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) contains extensive data for sex-disaggregated statistics and information on various aspects of gender inequality in EU Member states, providing Member States with statistical evidence to support the pursuit of gender equality and to monitor their progress.
The following sources also provide data on the situation of men and women in various sectors:
- the database of Statistics Estonia, the Eurostat database, the EIGE database and the OECD database, which presents gender-disaggregated data, allowing for the comparison of the situation of men and women in specific areas of life and fields of activity in Estonia and other European Union or OECD Member States
- the database of the National Institute for Health Development, which has health data
- Haridussilm, the database of the Ministry of Education and Research, which has data on education.
